June/July is winter time in Australia, however Cairns enjoys very comfortable weather conditions – generally sunny and dry, a haven from the colder climates to the south! Average temperatures range between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius. Casual clothing is recommended, although a light jacket may come in handy on cooler nights.

They are reasonably priced – approximate cost from the airport to Cairns City Centre is AUD$14.00 one way and readily available at the airport, railway stations, coach terminals and central points within the City. The Cairns Convention Centre also has a “taxi direct” telephone.
Major car rental companies are at the airport with many other organisations having offices in Cairns. Excellent limousine fleets service Tropical North Queensland with everything thing from transfers to sightseeing tours.

Cairns Airport Transfer Services Bus shuttle regularly pick up and set down travellers at most hotels and accommodation establishments. In addition to a public airport shuttle service, many hotels and motels have private transfer buses.
Australia Coach operates an airport shuttle service to the city (AUD$4.50 one way and between the domestic and international terminals (AUD$1 each). It picks up immediately in front of the arrival halls at both terminals.
